So, whats the catch?”

We get asked this question a lot, which is understandable—especially since the vast majority of scheduling platforms charge a monthly fee or pocket a massive chunk of your payments (or both).

Our model is completely different: We don’t touch your money.

If you charge $50 for a deposit, $50 will land in your Stripe account.

Not $47.00. Not $49. The full $50.

Instead, we charge your clients a small service fee when they pay your deposit. Here’s the breakdown:

  • Deposit Price: $50

    • Stripe Service Fee: ($50 x 2.9%) + $0.30 = $1.75

    • Zumi Service Fee: $50 x 4% = $2.00

  • Your Clients Pay: $53.75

Plus, your clients benefit from the ease of in-app messaging, streamlined custom tattoo requests, and self-service booking (if you offer flash). In other words, clients have a better experience when their artist uses Zumi.

How does Zumi make money?

Zumi is 100% FREE for tattoo artists.

We keep our lights on by charging clients a small platform fee when they submit deposits. The platform fee covers both the cost of credit card handling with Stripe and the cost of creating and maintaining our application.

I found a bug, how do I report it?

If you encounter an issue or a bug, the best thing to do is to email us at support@zumibook.ink. It would help a ton if you could send us a screen recording and/or screenshots on the email along with a description of what’s going on. We appreciate you bearing with us during this beta period! We’re doing our best to address all bugs on the platform as quickly as possible.

I don’t book with an open calendar. What can I do?

We recognize that there are a lot of booking preferences out there! With Zumi, our booking engine runs on an open calendar style of booking. However, there is some flexibility within the application.

💡 Example: Maybe you like setting up your days so you always have an 11:00 AM appointment and a 4:00 PM appointment. If you wanted to use Zumi to run your bookings, you could create your flash or custom work durations to be set to 1 hour (no matter how long it actually will take). Then, on the calendar, you can set your days as 11AM to 5PM and configure a break for 12PM to 4PM. This will force your calendar to only have availability between 11AM to Noon and 4PM to 5PM. You would just want to make sure that your client knows that the session is longer than 1 hour!

Does the client need to pay a deposit to book with me?

In the current version of Zumi, the client will need to pay a deposit to confirm an appointment with you.

What is Stripe and why do I need a Stripe account to use Zumi?

Stripe is an online payment processing platform that handles the transaction between client and artist. In order for you to get your deposits delivered securely to your bank account, you need to connect your Stripe account to Zumi. It also allows your clients to utilize credit cards to pay for their deposits. For most people, signing up for a Stripe account will only take a matter of minutes.

Do my clients need Stripe accounts?

No, clients will just see a payment dashboard where they can enter their credit/debit card information to pay their deposits.
